1 month old

As of Wednesday, our little peanut is one month old! As you can see by this picture, it must have been pretty exhausting, but Isla is getting bigger and cuter every day!

4 Weeks Old

Our little Isla is now four weeks old. She goes back to the doctor next week and we're thinking she'll be close to 8 pounds. She certainly looks and feels bigger and heavier.

In other news, I came down with a cold on Saturday night. I am fighting through it and hope that it goes away quickly. Tiffany is doing well and promises to get in a picture that will be on this site soon.

Here are some pictures:

Sunday Funday

We had the pleasure of having the Wills family come up for a visit today. Carrie, Kevin and Liam made the trip and they brought plenty of goodies (and dinner, too!). Most importantly, they brought my little buddy Liam. We have had a special bond ever since he was a couple months old. Today, we kept that bond going...as long as I kept Bosley away from him.

Here's Bosley getting some sun underneath Isla's swing before the company arrived.

Time Flies

Isla is now three weeks old! It seems like she grows and changes every day. I just completed my first week back at work. Every night when I come from work, it's always amazing to me that how much bigger she looks. And she's probably not even 7 pounds. Or maybe she is. Her belly is getting bigger and it looks like she has a nice second chin coming in now. Here are a few pictures.

The Murphy's (Justin, Alicia and Adeline) came over last night and brought us dinner. It was excellent. Here is Adeline holding one of Isla's toys. Adeline is getting the hang of her ABCs and really enjoyed playing with Leap. She even said "Isla" last night. It's really awesome to see her grow up.

6 Pounds, 8 Ounces

Isla packed on some weight since her last doctor's visit. She has put on 2 ounces a day since she last saw Dr. Benuck. He is very happy with her progress. Besides that, all else is good with Isla besides some explosive pooping. And when I say explosive, I mean it. We're talking flying 4 feet in the air before splattering against the door. Insane. I am lucky I was standing on the side of her or else I would have had to change my shirt for work. Apparently, she had done this to Tiffany a few hours earlier. Interesting how we go from pooping once a day to firing poop missiles across the room in the span of a week.

Here are a couple pics over the last few days. She's really changing a lot and her color looks great.

Kameron Makes a Visit

On Thursday, Isla met her cousin Kameron. He is almost 10 months old and pretty much looks like a giant next to Isla. And it's pretty hard to keep him in one place. Remarkably, he was a little more interested in Bosley than Isla. Here are a few pics of the night.

Bath, Take 2

The second sponge bath was better than the first. Next time it will be the real deal, because Isla's cord fell off.

We also had another trip to the doctor today. All was well. She's gained most of her original birth weight back. Here's the little peanut in her car seat again. It really is amazing how small she looks in this thing.

Lastly, Bosley told me he wanted to be photographed today. Here are a couple of his shots:

Hot Dogs and Salami

Much to Tiffany's pleasure, we ordered both salami and hot dogs in our Peapod order that came today. She hasn't had either one since we learned she was pregnant back in June. Not sure if we'll have some dogs on the grill for dinner tonight or not, but I figured I'd mention someone else besides Isla for a minute.

I had the pleasure of talking to my great friend Kevin (Whitey) Wills last night. He and his wife Carrie have Liam, a 15 month old little boy. I find some of his behavior hilarious. His mom and dad, not so much. I told him I was able to get out for nice 7 miler yesterday and thought about this blog for a few minutes. I told him I should have just called it "It's Isla's World, We're Just Living in It." He seemed to think I had discovered "it" already - these kids know exactly what they are doing and have us wrapped around their finger the minute they come out of the womb.

Here are some more pics:

Isla's cousins Tessa and Trent (with Uncle Pete and Aunt Angie or "Mimi") came by for a visit on Sunday. Here's Tessa with Isla:

Last Week at this Time...

Today will wrap up Isla's first week of life. It's been quite a whirlwind. If you would have asked Tiffany or me when we would become parents, neither of thought it was going to happen in January. But here we are with beautiful Isla, our little peanut.

She slept 4 hours in her crib last night, so we're pretty happy around these parts. Her Grandma also had the pleasure of staying over and only experiencing a mild crying fit last night, so in the words of former president Haywood, "We're making progress."

Here are a few pics from yesterday. It was highlighted by visits from my Yiayia, Aunt Barb (or Babs as Isla likes to call her) Guz, and the aforementioned Grandma and Grandpa.

In her new outfit, which was courtesy of Alicia and Justin Murphy, our guiding light through this adventure called parenthood. This is one a the few outfits that actually fit her well right now.
