Bobo!

Bosley's been through a lot in his 9 years, and he's not that excited about possibly falling farther down the ranks of the family totem pole.

But, one thing is for sure, Isla loves her Bobo and judging by all the kisses he gives her and cuddles they share on her blanket in bed, he loves her too.
Happy Birthday, Mr. B!

We did it!

Almost 5 weeks ago, I thought the new addition to our family was about to make a very early entrance. But, here I sit (yes, still resting and waiting) at 37 weeks! I followed the doctor's request (she couldn't order the baby to stay in!) and now, I'm hoping the baby will come at any time. Well, any time after Tuesday morning, when Dr. Wise is back in town!

This baby may be lovingly referred to as a "beast" and a "bowling ball", but one thing I know for sure is that he/she is a good little listener. I'm proud of our effort to make it this far and also so grateful for all of the support, thoughts and prayers from family and friends everywhere which helped make this very possible too.

35...36...36 1/2...

...still waiting as patiently as I can be while carrying around this bowling ball on my bladder.

Happy Birthday, Gammo!

Yesterday we celebrated my mom's special day and Grampy was sure to remind Isla that Gammo is 60 years older than her! How many years older are YOU Grampy?!

Kool Kids

Aunt Jaime came to visit this week and brought along just what Isla needed -"the kids"- as she refers to her cousins, Kameron and Keaton.

The boys switched characters often, but Isla was sure to remind us that she is the princess.
Yes, we know.

34 weeks and counting...

I made it to my 34 week appointment today and all is good! Yay! Baby is still in my belly with a strong heart rate and plenty of kicks and movement. I still have to rest though, with the hope of making it to 37 weeks. I think I can... I think I can...

Labor & No Delivery

As many of you know, 9 days ago, my routine 32-week appointment turned into what I thought might be happening around week 37 or so. (I have a history of early delivery, but this was excessive!) Needless to say a 3 1/2 day hospital stay was not routine, scheduled or even dreamed of during this pregnancy!

I'm very grateful to be back at home with Isla, trying to adjust to this new "normal" lifestyle. I'm not one to sit around and do nothing, especially with an eager and active little woman here, so our limited couch and floor activities have become interesting. And boring. Isla was enrolled in "Big Sister Bootcamp" when I left for that appointment, even though she didn't know it. She's been learning the ropes quickly, helping out every way she can and getting excited to meet the baby. Although she does remind him/her to "stay right there" in my belly!

I'd like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and hopes for a later delivery of baby K #2. The support has been so helpful and encouraging. We have such an amazing group of friends and family!

A special thanks to my L&D nurses, Allie and Susan, who were so calming and attentive. If it really was go time, I would have been blessed to have their help! And the nurses on the recovery floor, Amy, Sara, Leila and Sarah, who made my daily 2, 4 and 6-hour checkups as manageable as possible and always had a positive thought for me.

And to Gammo and Grampy for coming at a moment's notice to care for Isla during this practice run. To Gail for sending and surrounding me with the "stop the contraction angels". They worked really hard. ;)

And of course, to Paul, the most calming and supportive husband. I couldn't have made it through each day since that appointment without him. He makes everything better. This baby is so fortunate to have him as a daddy!
