Strollin' at the Shedd

A rainy Saturday makes for a perfect day to take Gannon and Isla to the Aquarium.

And it's a great way to test out the new double stroller.

Gannon: "Wow, what is this place?"

Isla: "Oh, wait 'til I show you!"

And off we were to all of her favorite things to see and do at the aquarium:

The jellyfish,

the penguins,

the belugas (just in time for a feeding),

and she even braved the shark tank in the Wild Reef because she decided Gannon REALLY likes sharks. Hmm...

Navigating the submarine is a must,

as well as a stop at the gift shop.

We did not come home with 3 giant belugas.

"Don't you just love it here, brother?" He must, because he was a great baby all day!

but this one wasn't so lucky. But it sure did taste good! Great job, pk!

Five years ago today was truly one of the best days of my life. And since then, I've had many best days, all because of my amazing husband, Paul. I can't imagine a more perfect fairy tale than the one I live now. I love you, pk.

Today is Paul's big day!

Finally time for cake!

Isla thinks the band Cracker said it best when they sang, "Hap-py, Happy Birthday day to me, Happy Birthday to me and to you!" She loves birthdays and reminded us many times that hers in coming in "Jan-wary" and described the cake and party that she'd like. We took notes!

Isla had to help make the wish too. Gannon just wishes he could get a slice of that cake.

"Daddy, will you read that book to me?"

"Of course. This is your other Bible."

Isla couldn't stop snapping photos of Daddy's silly birthday antics. How much cake did you eat?!

Thank you for all you do, Daddy. You take the best care of us and we love you so much! Mwah!
