Mother's Day Celebration

The annual Kapellas Mother's Day trip the Shedd Aquarium was fantastic! Aside from a few instances of Isla's attention span being a little short because of a brief 20 minute nap in the car. Isla and I both love celebrating Mother's Day with Tiffany. She is the most wonderful mother and wife we could ever ask for. We also know that next year our three person team will have another member, so we wanted to make this one extra special. Here are a few pictures of the fun day:

One of our first stops was the new jellyfish exhibit.

After stopping at a few of the usual favorites like the penguins, the belugas and the dolphins, we hit the yellow submarine.

Then we made a quick stop in the gift shop and Tiffany and Isla tried on a couple of the jelly hats.

Before we headed home, I took several pictures of my beautiful ladies outside. Here are a couple of the best ones.

Isla and I decided that the celebration should go on a second day, so on Monday, we made Tiffany's favorite - a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Needless to say, with Isla's mixing ability and my direction reading talents, we made a winner that everyone enjoyed. Well, Isla may have enjoyed it the most but there was a lot of love in that cake.

Rest in Peace

John P. Honiotes

Although he left this earth much too soon, his spirit is sure to surround us from now on. John was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend that touched the lives of countless people. He always had a story to tell and I think Paul's family will find peace in retelling many of them, but more importantly, the life story of John.

My thoughts are with Big Yia Yia, Gail and her siblings as they stood strong next to his bedside and helped him move on to the next life. Their strength, love and family devotion is truly admirable.

Please keep Paul and his family in your prayers.

Go fly a kite!

And so we did on a perfectly sunny and windy day.
Look at her go!

"It's my turn, daddy!"

"I thought it was supposed to stay in the air, daddy?"

"Great job, Daddy! You can log this as a run entry today."

"Aah, spring!"
