Happy 35th Anniversary!

This handsome couple is my parents, Mike and Lynn, standing at their wedding reception 35 years ago today. Congratulations!

Unfortunately (or fortunately?), my dad has not maintained this stellar hair style and mustache, but somewhere this suit lives on. And I only wish my mom had all of her cute dresses to share with me. The best part of this picture is the true happiness seen in their eyes and smiles. And if you look at them now, they still have the same smiles and bright eyes, as they proudly dote on their granddaughter, Isla. I guess it's the most fitting gift to celebrate true love and many more years together to come!

8 months old!

Today, our little woman is 8 months old!

I feel so fortunate that I'm able to be with her each day and watch her grow and change. To me, the differences are subtle, but always amazing. She has quite the personality (if only we could translate those noises!) and we think her favorite thing to do is smile and laugh. She certainly has made it one of ours lately!

Her hair is getting long and dark again and her little bird legs now have plenty of "meat" on them, perfect for tickling! She loves to kick and splash in the tub (she must have her daddy's running gene!) so much so that we should probably just get in there with her. And she eats snacks and drinks from a straw all on her own.

So, here she is in her chair with her lion. She's come to recognize him and looks forward to their monthly meetings!

Wow!

It's been about two weeks since the last post. We've been busy. There's one less appendix in our house and we've also completed our fastest half marathon.

Tiffany is getting better every day after recovering from her appendectomy last Friday. It was pretty crazy and happened really fast. Fortunately they caught it early and despite some soreness and being pretty tired, Tiffany is doing well. If you'd like to read about my half-marathon, go here.

The real star of the family has been busy, too. Here's a look into her life over the past two weeks.

Would you like some cottage cheese, Isla? No thanks!

Isla and daddy got to spend some quality time together a couple Saturdays ago. Isla rewarded him with spitting out her food. And she thought is was pretty funny.

This was taken after we got cleaned up.

Isla doesn't have any Purdue clothes yet, so she decided to wear one of mommy's shirts.

Isla can now pick up some snacks on her own.

Isla and Bosley hanging out.

Lastly, Isla just started to fit into this pair of pajamas. It has become our favorite pair. She looks so cute as a giraffe. The best part of this first picture is that this was taken as soon as we tunred on her light. Isla likes to talk in the morning before we go into her room. She's always so happy to see us in the morning...as you can tell.

The Swing, Some Broccoli and Some Ham

Despite not feeling that well, Isla still has been pretty busy lately. We made a trip to the park this past Sunday. She loved the swing. Not a huge surprise, considering she would only sleep in her swing for much of the first 4 months of her life.

Isla also had broccoli for the first time. The jury may still be out on it though. She wasn't a fan of much food at all when she first started getting sick.

Lastly, our little woman is becoming quite the ham. Here are a few shots of her in her shirt with a dachshund on it. Bosley was very excited when she decided to wear this shirt too.

7 Months Old!

Isla is now 7 months old. It's pretty crazy to look at these pictures and then look at the pictures of her when we first got home from the hospital with her. She also celebrated being 7 months old with her first virus. One week later, I think we're finally over it. I say we because the amount of sleep the three of us had last week was not much at all. So with that, enjoy these 7 month photos:
